Bearings for Hauler Trucks (OTR – Off-The-Road)

In open-pit mines around the world, coal, minerals, and oil sands are transported in large dump trucks. FBC supplies not only wheel bearings for the electrically driven rear wheels but also for the complete gear assemblies.

The wheel bearing arrangement consists of two tapered roller bearings in an "O" configuration. Some of these bearings have an outer diameter of more than one meter. The gears are equipped with cylindrical roller bearings and double-row tapered roller bearings. In some cases, planetary gears are used, with the planetary wheels running on specially developed spherical roller bearings.

Bearings in mining applications are typically subjected to extreme conditions, including dust, heavy loads, and long intervals between maintenance points. Because of this, many mining bearings are designed with specialized features, such as labyrinth seals, positive-pressure systems, and high-strength materials to withstand these harsh conditions.
